Tellspiele Interlaken

From 22 June to 7 September 2024 the Tellspiele Interlaken will take place.

Tellspiele Interlaken – Wilhelm Tell goes Robin Hood!

In 2024, the Tellspiele Interlaken will set off for new shores and present a different kind of theatre play on its stage for the first time!

What happens in the Rugenwald forest on the Tellspiel site in Matten? Arrows whizz through the air, heroes fight bravely, love blossoms, and it all takes place on the magnificent open-air stage. After more than 110 years of William Tell, another archer now takes up the sceptre and confronts the villains of this world. Robin Hood, Earl of Loxley, fights passionately for the rights of the people, supported by his loyal companions – the courageous Little John, the sociable Sister Tack and the beautiful Lady Marian. The myths and legends of our childhood come to life in a thrilling stage show – an unforgettable and exciting experience for the whole family! Directed by Tiziana Sarro, written by Klemens J. Brysch and performed by the ensemble of the Tell Open-Air Theatre Interlaken.

After more than 100 years with “William Tell” based on Friedrich Schiller, the Tellspiele Interlaken are daring to switch to a different play in the Tell Arena for the first time in 2024 with “Robin Hood”. Instead of the crossbow, the bow and arrow now reign supreme. Robin Hood is the central hero of several medieval English ballads that have evolved over the centuries into the legend we know today.
